Job Description

A transportation technology company is seeking a Junior Production Support Engineer to join their team in Tysons Corner, VA.

Responsibilities

  • Work with, and provide services to, product managers, developers, analysts, and other technology and business resources
  • Control initiation and launch of new customers, including system setup, configuration and validation
  • Observe production systems, integrations, jobs and processes
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders in the course of issue triage, B2B implementations, and feature rollout
  • Address issues identified by stakeholders
  • Quality control of new features post deployment
  • Help with QA of deployments in new markets
  • Focus on process and system improvements and act on these observations to ensure system stability and ease of maintenance

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or related field
  • 1+ years of devops, software development or production support experience or other technology role involving analyzing, troubleshooting, and correcting issues
  • Understanding of the creation of Incident Reports and Root Cause Analysis Reports
  • Knowledge of MySQL and PostgreSQL, Linux – Command Line and shell scripting, Ruby/Python/Perl/Node.js or other scripting languages, Cron or similar scheduling tool, and Jira, Confluence, Jenkins
  • Able to read and comprehend multiple programming languages
  • Knowledge of change management, configuration management and release management processes
  • Strong communication skills
  • Able to work within a fast-paced environment
  • Able to multi-task, managing multiple projects and tasks with multiple priorities
  • Able to work with all functional areas within the organization including senior management
  • Possess a service-oriented attitude with excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Able to work independently, self-motivated and highly focused
