A discount store company is seeking an IT Operations Analyst to join their team in Chesapeake, VA.


  • Lead Change Management Lifecycle process, meetings and activities for IT services and strategic IT partners
  • Work in conjunction with the Development team, Support teams, engineering and Business teams to enforce change process and governance
  • Guidance for change freezes and escalated change management processes in support of critical business and holiday processing periods
  • Tracking, consulting, and training on Post-Implementation Review procedures, documentation standards, and ensure SLA requirements are enforced
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors to measure change process compliance; Ensure strict adherence to established change processes and procedures for audit compliance
  • Ensure all changes have proper validation, release strategies and that roles and responsibilities are well documented and kept current with all key partners ongoing
  • Work with requestors to ensure proper documentation is provided within each change
  • Facilitate meetings to address change inefficiencies or identified risks, with strong negotiation skills and ability to build consensus to avoid potential business impact
  • Design and enforce change and release management processes and practices that protect the production environment and minimize end-user risk
  • Develop and maintain metrics applicable to change and release management
  • Work with IT team, develop and maintain CMDB; Recommend methods and/or automation to ensure CMDB is accurate and up to date
  • Manage the education program for specific processes around Change, Configuration management; Provide consulting, training and support to IT personnel in the use Change, Configuration control tools and procedures
  • recommend and deliver continuous improvements to Change and Configuration process.  Recommend tools and budget to support ongoing maintenance, upkeep and improvements to Change and CMDB process
  • Execute the procedure around application turnover from project/development team to operations with proper documentation at all stages of the project and maintained
  • Control the IT operations audit calendar and be the liaison between various IT operations organization and other external teams to ensure audits (IT and external) are executed in a timely manner with best quality



  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Communications
  • 4+ years of Change Management experience in a complex technical environment, especially a 24x7 operation
  • 2-3 years of exposure to Project Management processes in a complex technical environment, especially a 24x7 operation
  • 1+ years with enterprise IT CMDB
  • Experience in project turnover to IT operations organization and knowledge of best practices in turnover procedures
  • Knowledge in disaster recovery plan with good handle on RPO (Recovery Point Objective) and RTO (Recovery Time Objective)
  • Understanding of Go and No Go decisions done during change implementation process and should have ability to quickly escalate when required
  • Understanding of various application environments like On prem, IaaS, Paas, SaaS etc.
  • Understanding of the software development life cycle, the implications, and how to evolve standard change management to accommodate release management continuous integration
  • Able to communicate, both verbally and written with all levels of the IT and business teams with a high level of confidence; Experience communicating technical information to various and potentially non-technical audience
  • Able to work in a fast paced collaborative environment, and manage several tasks simultaneously
  • Strong technical writing skills


  • ITIL Foundations Certification
  • Experience with ServiceNow
  • Experience in Jira and IssueTrak
  • Able to effectively drive and lead organizational change
  • Experience in Vendor Management Operations or general management consulting
  • Experience in support turnover process of projects from development teams
  • Critical incident management and process experience with exposure to SLAs, KPIs and other operational metrics
