A financial services firm is seeking a Database Security Architect/Engineer to join their team in Coppell, TX.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, design, develop and implement new both on-premises and cloud database security technologies to support firm business and technology solutions
  • Create, maintain and deliver to project schedules and budgets
  • Identify, manage and maintain KPI and other metrics for core processes
  • Review and assess the current supported tools, apps and processes to determine gaps for meeting the needs of the stakeholders
  • Design and implement changes to existing security tools, applications and processes based on changes in scope or needs
  • Work with internal infrastructure teams to align and execute infrastructure changes to support the tools, apps and processes
  • Create process documents for operations, maintenance and integrating output from these tools into daily security operations
  • Act as a subject matter expert for security tools, applications and processes, including SIEM, Database security Monitoring, Network Security Monitoring, Compliance to Security baseline, Vulnerability Management

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of Database Security Monitoring tools and systems experience
  • 5+ years database experience in the following platforms: Oracle, SQL, MySQL, Sybase, UDB, DB2, Greenplum, PostgreSQL, Aurora, MongoDB, RDS, DynamoDB
  • 5+ years in database authentication, authorization controls, encryption methods and technologies
  • 3+ years in database vulnerability management experience
  • 3+ years in database auditing, monitoring experience
  • Experience with IBM Guardium, Imperva, IBM QRadar or any SIEM tools, Splunk ES, AWS EC2, VPC, Route53, Cloudfront, S3, Cloudwatch, Azure Compute
  • Knowledge in the field of event logging and reporting; Understanding of various logging format (e.g. Syslog, Windows event logging, diff. database logging, flatfile log format of diff. technologies etc.)
  • Experience with Authentication Protocols in AWS, windows and Linux
  • Experience with SSL Certificates, AWS Auth and/or SSL communication
  • Experience with Scripting languages: Unix Shell (bash/ksh), PowerShell, Batch commands
  • Knowledge of Security Risk and capabilities with SaaS, IaaS, PaaS
  • Experience with Network and Host Based Monitoring, Vulnerability Management, PKI, Tripwire etc.
  • CISSP, CEH certifications would be a plus
  • HashiCorp experience and/or Database Security would be a plus
