A law firm is seeking an Application Support Engineer to join their team in New York, NY.


  • Design and implement highly available robust business applications to improve functionality and the overall end-user experience
  • Ensure that applications adhere to standard operational procedures – This will include leveraging existing monitoring tools to provide end-to-end operational monitoring, as well as working with the infrastructure team to determine appropriate backup, storage, cpu, and memory requirements
  • Work with the User Support and Training department to give first level responders the ability to resolve issues and increase first call resolution ability
  • Work with Information Systems leadership to determine appropriate KPIs and monitoring targets and implementing solutions to regularly report on defined metrics
  • Develop quality assurance strategies and implementing appropriate functional and user acceptance testing
  • Design and operate a functional business continuity plan for enterprise applications and regular tests to validate the plan
  • Work with the data architecture team to define critical business data elements and determine how those should integrate with the firm’s data management strategies
  • Stay up-to-date on related technology trends and best practice in defined areas of expertise to offer insight and guidance to Information Systems leadership
  • Work with vendors as appropriate to ensure successful upgrades and deployments of enterprise applications
  • Handle support escalations, including shared support of an on-call rotation schedule


  • Must have at least a Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience with the following enterprise applications: iManage Work; Elite Enterprise; Aderant Compulaw Vision; ServiceNow; Microsoft Dynamics CRM; viDesktop (including viEval, viLMS and viRecruit); Legalkey Records and Conflicts; and HighQ Collaborate
  • Understanding of Microsoft platforms including SQL, IIS and Windows Server
  • Scripting, preferably PowerShell, and ability to leverage scripts to assist with operations a plus
  • 5+ years of Microsoft SQL Server experience (2012/2104/2016) including database administration, database tuning, database management, database security, high availability architecture and advanced T-SQL

  • Ability to work independently
  • On site during normal working hours and available as necessary before or after normal working hours to work at the firm, over the telephone, or at off-site meetings, in order to meet the demands of the job and the needs of the firm
  • Expected to carry a wireless email device and respond when necessary
  • Ability to engage in off-site travel as required from time to time, in order to meet the demands of the job, and the needs of the firm
  • Professional certifications a plus
